Hey, I’m Heeho!
So glad you could make it today — how was your trip? do you need some water? are you all settled in? excellent!
I’m an aspiring public policy leader & community builder with a passion for shaping evidence-based, equity-centered policies across Canada (& beyond).
This lil’ site is where I share the things I’ve been working on and what I’m dreaming up next! Make yourself at home, poke around, and don’t be shy!
If you have any questions or something sparks your interest, just click the button below and say hi :)
Research
As a social researcher, I use mixed-method and community-based participatory research approaches to centre marginalized voices, challenge normative assumptions, and advocate for the implementation of equitable and accessible public policies, programs, and systems.
Committed to community and collaboration, I prioritize research that is not only academically rigorous but meaningfully responsive to the needs of disenfranchised communities including 2S/LGBTQ+ and IBPOC.
Photography
I wouldn’t dare call myself a photographer, but I do enjoy snapping pictures here and there!
The focal point (pun intended) of my photos explore family (love ‘em), community, and the environment (both natural & built).
I have curated a couple of featured photos I would love for you to check out!
I’ve also written some reflection pieces if you have time to read ‘em!
Essays
I had too many thoughts and started writing ‘em down!
My essay series “Colonial Continuum” explores the many ways in which colonialism across time and geography have left an imprint on our everyday realities.
Spanning across histories, cultures, politics, sciences, and the arts, I investigate and weave through colonialism that lives on today.
